Sistem yang dibangun meng-implementasikan metode Simple additive Weighting (SAW) dan Multi-Objective Optimization on the basis of Ratio Analysis (MOO...

In this work poly(lactic) acid (PLA)/poly(butylene succinate-co-adipate) (PBSA) biobased binary blends were investigated. PLA/PBSA mixtures with different compositions of PBSA (from 15 up to 40 wt.%) were produced by twin screw-extrusion. A first screening study was performed on these blends that were characterized from the melt fluidity, morphological and thermo-mechanical point of view. Starting from the obtained results, the effect of an epoxy oligomer (EO) (added at 2 wt.%) was further investigated. In this case a novel approach was introduced studying the micromechanical deformation processes by dilatometric uniaxial tensile tests, carried out with a videoextensometer. The characterization was then completed adopting the elasto-plastic fracture approach, by the measurement of the capability of the selected blends to absorb energy at a slow rate. The obtained results showed that EO acts as a good compatibilizer, improving the compatibility of the rubber phase into the PLA matrix...

Drive Student Success: Designing a MakerBus to Bring Standard-Based Making and Technology Activities into K-12 Schools2020 •
Designing a mobile makerspace, the MakerBus, originated from our goal of bringing maker education to all students in K-12, thus empowering students to believe they could create things and make social changes. This design case was guided by human-centered design principles and rapid prototyping instructional design model. In this paper, we elaborated on the process of designing the MakerBus, highlight major design decisions.

An analytical continuum model for axially loaded end‐bearing piles in inhomogeneous soil2019 •
SummaryAn approximate static solution is derived for the elastic settlement and load‐transfer mechanism in axially loaded end‐bearing piles in inhomogeneous soil obeying a power law variation in shear modulus with depth. The proposed generalised formulation can handle different types of soil inhomogeneity by employing pertinent eigenexpansions of the dependent variables over the vertical coordinate, in the form of static soil “modes”, analogous to those used in structural dynamics. Contrary to available models for homogeneous soil, the associated Fourier coefficients are coupled, obtained as solutions to a set of simultaneous algebraic equations of equal rank to the number of modes considered. Closed‐form solutions are derived for the (1) pile head stiffness; (2) pile settlement, axial stress, and side friction profiles leading to actual, depth‐dependent Winkler moduli, (3) displacement and stress fields in the soil; and (4) average, depth‐independent Winkler moduli to match pile he...

Crush syndrome in a case of severe infant physical abuse: a case report2021 •
Crush syndrome, also known as traumatic rhabdomyolysis, is the result of the disruption of skeletal muscle fibers with the release of intracellular contents into the bloodstream. Although trauma is the main trigger for rhabdomyolysis in adults, in the pediatric population viral infections and inherited disorders seem to be the most frequent causes. Only a few reports in the literature mention rhabdomyolysis secondary to non-accidental pediatric trauma. We herein report an unusual case of traumatic rhabdomyolysis, following significant physical abuse in an infant. Rhabdomyolysis should be suspected in children presenting with a history of excessive blunt trauma, because a prompt diagnosis and treatment prevent from the potential life-threatening consequences.
