In the last years, either progress in landscape archaeology as well as studies on the epigraphy of production areas, have contribute to increase our volume of información. However, such headway not always has come along with an improvement in the data interpretation, in other words, in the study of the complex forms of landownership and management of resources in Roman Spain. We believed it is necessary to integrate diverse types of existent documentation sources, and we propose in the present case to study a working model focus on the gens Licinia. The importance of this gens in the Northeast of the Peninsula and the outstanding volume of información preserved allow us to put forward a series of methodological and historical reflections we judge significant.

Recognising the importance of the Tarraconensis amphorae, as Ricard Pascual did, we present a study on their typology and the meaning of their seals. A detailed study of the seals enables us to clarify some of the unknown aspects of the trade routes and the areas of economic influence of Tarraco. The evolution of the seals and their typology is an important reference point for an overall study on the production and trading of wine from Tarraco
Between urbs and fundus: funeral and honorific commemoration among the hispano-roman local elites in the space of their rustic properties. Abstract: We tray in this paper to show the close relationship kept by the members of the families belonging to the Hispanic municipal aristocracy with their rustic properties. Many local aristocratic members, being agricultural possessores, owed to spend their time between the urbs, where they displayed their public life, and their fundi, from where they obtained the economical resources which allowed to keep themselves as members of the municipal ordines decurionum. On the other hand, the funeral epigraphs and the statuaries erected in their homage, founded in the rural territory of numerous cities of Hispania, show us the will of many local noblemen for being buried within their rustic ownership, or for exhibiting their merita in the pars urbana of their villages. That is the proof that their life took usually place between the city and their rural properties.
