The dagger with a bidiscoidal hilt is one of the most characteristic types (out of three known models) to be adopted by the Roman Army. Possibly referred to in written sources, its origins can be found in Celtiberian communities. All the known examples from the Early Empire are studied here. Hispania is where the weapon was adapted and where most examples have been found, indicating a situation of troops and conflicts. However, there is no evidence of this dagger being used after the Augustan Age.

Dactylorhiza cantabrica. Morphological notes on Dactylorhiza cantabrica, a fertile hybrid of D. insularis × sambucina from Palencia (Spain). Juan Antonio Ruiz de Gopegui, Urs Rainer Lueders & Laurentino García.Journal Europäischer Orchideen 50 (2-4) 345-366 : 2018.
Ruiz de Gopegui, Lueders & García (2018)_Morphological notes Dactylorhiza cantabrica Palencia (Spain)_JEO_50(2-4)345-366.pdfThe mention of its presence in the province of Palencia in BENITO (2017), leads us to review the populations of Dactylorhiza sambucina (L.) Soó, known to us and to search for new populations. Some of the populations initially identified as D. sambucina, are determined as Dactylorhiza cantabrica H. A. Pedersen, based on the parameters provided in PEDERSEN (2006). These populations are located in the northern third of the province of Palencia “Montaña Palentina” and neighbouring areas versus Cantabria, León and Burgos. During spring all known populations were reviewed by the authors, locating new sites. Further 27 available specimens previously determined as D. sambucina were reassessed, eight samples were attributed to D. cantabrica.
