Natural fibres such as wood and vegetable fibre offer many advantages such as renewability, recyclability low specific gravity and high specific strength. The demand for green building material has been gaining attention over the past decades as contemporary lifestyle calls for more products that are environmental friendly, economically viable and to be provided with healthy places to live and work. The unique balance of natural fibre properties would open up new market development opportunities in the green material world. This review confirms that there are numerous papers discussing about the use of natural fibre for building material using their local plant fibres. In Malaysia most of the studies only focus on producing EFB as MDF and pulp and paper products. The development of the natural fibre based material especially in building products are discussed briefly, particularly with reference to global and Asian activities.

The Legitimacy of Loan Maturity Mismatching: A Risky, but not Fraudulent, Undertaking2009 •
Barnett and Block (Journal of Business Ethics, 2009) attack the heart of modern banking by claiming that the practice of borrowing short and lending long is illicit. While their claim of illegitimacy concerning fractional reserve banking can be defended, their ...

Traditional cancer treatments, such as surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, are still the most effective clinical practice options. However, these treatments may display moderate to severe side effects caused by their low temporal or spatial resolution. In this sense, photonic nanomedicine therapies have been arising as an alternative to traditional cancer treatments since they display more control of temporal and spatial resolution, thereby yielding fewer side effects. In this work, we reviewed the challenge of current cancer treatments, using the PubMed and Web of Science database, focusing on the advances of three prominent therapies approached by photonic nanomedicine: (i) photothermal therapy; (ii) photodynamic therapy; (iii) photoresponsive drug delivery systems. These photonic nanomedicines act on the cancer cells through different mechanisms, such as hyperthermic effect and delivery of chemotherapeutics and species that cause oxidative stress. Furthermore, we covered the...
